"Five, four, three, two ,one, ready or not here I come", I shouted. I slowly crept behind the big tree. Suddenly I felt something touch me. I was scared of it. I ran back home and looked for mum and dad. They weren't there. I had to go investigate for myself so I followed it. It was fast and pretty tall. It ran into the hotel so I followed. It crept into the hotel room. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" My parents and friends shouted.

Week 4 Journal Entries "The light was so bright..."Please read and leave a comment.

The light was so bright burning through the trees. Everyone on the street was awake exept old grandpa. The  birds were singing on the edge of the branch. The kids across the street were playing their little ball game. The road was clear with no cars at all and  mum yelled out to my brother and I we heard, ''It will be perfect to ride you're bike,'' All we did was shake our heads and yelled back ''No thank you, we are fine!'' We walked across the road to play with the other kids.

The light was so bright that it could make you blind. I was forced to shut my eyes. I didn't know what it was until I was forced to open them. it was coming from a beaming thing outside of the window. When I opened my eyes I looked straight outside the window, It was still dark though. I was awake was with me. The light had struck my eyes again somebody was with me. The light had struck with bang. I was shocked but when I looked up there was something there. It looked like my sister at the door.
Lilli K

The light was so bright, I couldn't even see a single thing. I tried to open my eyes, but all I saw was a white background. A couple of minutes later, I opened my eyes again and I saw a lady helping me up. I looked at her again and realised that she was my long lost mother who died when I was just four years old. I ask my mum, "How did you get here mum?" She didn't answer me, but she pointed at a genie from my dreams. I was so happy, I cried and gave her a big hug.

The light was so bright when I entered the disco. It was my cousin's birthday party and I was so, so bored everyone was dancing exept for me. My parents were the ones who forced me into going. They thought I needed to get out of the house. I felt so annoyed and irratated that they never listend to me or asked me how I felt when they forced me to do things. I just wanted to tell them that I sometimes felt like they forced me to do things. Afterwards they came up to me and said "Sweety we know that you wanted to go to your friend's sweet 16 so your Dad and I decided you can go there." Mum said "We know that she was going to leave the country tommorow so you can have another day with her." I was so happy and felt that they understanded me. I gave them a great big bear hug and cried out "Thanks!"

The light was so bright that I was forced to close my eyes. The light was flashing all kinds of amazing colours, from a golden yellow to a dashing deep purple. I was falling into another dimension and in the distance I heard a peaceful, harmonious harp playing a beautiful tune. As I opened my eyes to look at my surroundings, I saw a gorgeous kingdom above the clouds and a familiar woman was leading around this new world. I heard a voice that summoned me from this paradise. I slowly opened my eyes, only to see my mother peering over me while I was in my bed, begging me to go to school.

The light was so bright my eyes felt like they were melting. I staggered forward desperately trying to find the source. The light dimmed. I opened my eyes. The dark slowly poured into the room. A candle mysteriously lit. There was a chair, a table and a bible. I sat down, and a thought came into my mind. Look in the bible. Memories could not pour into my mind. A mechanical door opened. A plate slid from the opening. The door closed befor any anylizing could be done. I tried pushing other spots in the room. At last I gave up. I sat and opened the bible. It was no bible, horrifying pictures flooded in my mind.

Wilton

The light was so bright and it was making my eyes ache. As I walked up the stairs the light got dimmer and dimmer and then I saw a yellow and green alien. The alien turned around and saw me I screamed and then I ran back out of the haunted castle. As I pushed the door open, the alien grabbed me and pulled me into the kitchen. "Im not going to let you go until I give you some of my famous alien sausages". "No no I wouldn't want to waste your time" I said. When the alien turned around I quickly ran out of the kitchen, down the stairs and out of the house.

5/6 J Have written some Persuasive Texts on Homework is Necessary. Please read and leave a comment.

Text type: Persuasive

Purpose: To put forward a point of view to convince the reader

Audience: Year 5/6J and visitors

Homework is Necessary

I strongly believe that homework is necessary in all children and teenagers lives. Homework will help students gain good habits for life as an adult. It helps children understand things that they may not of understood in class and homework makes sure that students will have to stop using their electronic devices.

Think about it, what if children didn't learn how to work hard at school and home? They would struggle to be employed to a good job and keep it. Your kid will never become a doctor or a lawyer if they spend their time procrastinating instead of doing there homework. Homework will help students gain good work habits which will help take their first step into the adulthood.

Children and teenagers may not of understood everything in class that day, homework can help by making students review what they did. Parents can always give another point of view on that one maths problem that you didn't understand or help you get ready for your science test. Having your parents help can also be fun and make you and your parents bond stronger.

Unless you need to do research or need to use the computer for your homework, students should always avoid their electronic devices. Homework will keep students avoid these devices by giving students other priorities. Research shows that listening to music can be very distracting but there are some exceptions. Listening to Mozart can help the mind concentrate and students will feel more relaxed.

Homework is very important and is necessary in all of our lives. It helps us to be ready for anything in the future, helps us understand things better in class and stops us from becoming squared-eyed from our computers. Homework isn't really that boring, so concentrate hard when it comes to homework because without homework, life will be very challenging.

Homework is Necessary
All students must receive homework for many important reasons. Homework gives students a chance to revise the work that they have done at schools, make them explore new things, and help them develop good habits that will help them when they are older.

Homework gives students a chance to revise the work that is done at school. If students practice the homework they are given, they will recognise the work that is given at school or in a test. Revising homework
is like memorising your times tables, if you practice your homework regularly, you will be able to remember important pieces of information.

Homework makes students research different things, making their knowledge broader. A vast amount of people receive assignments about different subjects like awesome Antarctica, the dashing Daintree Rainforest, and major issues like the gruesome global warming. This makes students explore new sources of information that can improve their vocabulary, spelling, mathematics, and researching skills.

Furthermore, homework can teach children good working habits that will help them when they are older. If children do homework by themselves without pestering their parents, it will teach them how to be independent and get work done faster, these skills are very important for when they get older and go on to high school or university.
In conclusion, students must be given homework because it gives children the benefits of being able to revise their school work, improving their knowledge, and good working habits. Don't you think homework is necessary.

Homework is Necessary
The word "homework" is a word dreaded by children but loved by parents all over the world. Yet it is a necessary part of all of our lives for three important reasons. One, it helps children to receive some revision from a long unfocused day. Another reason is, they will learn independence and with a little coaxing they will do their homework without getting pestered by their parents. Finally, it prepares them for later life as their parents also have to take work home.

A day at school is torturous to some, but luxurious to another group. It is during these last hours that the child's concentration drops significantly and a there is a noticeable change of behaviour. This might subside in later hours such as 7:00PM. This is a perfect time since extra-curriculum activities usually end at 5:00PM. Two hours are enough for necessary activities such as dinner if they don't dawdle. Their revision during the night will help them, for their heads are empty as a dry sponge. The knowledge will seep into the brain like water. They will be sure to remember their work.

Independence, is what our parents are speaking about these days. The importance of this topic is more important than you think. The benefits of homework are not short lived. Slowly good habits form and usually they stick for the rest of their lives. Sometimes coaxing is needed to help the child in his/her habit forming state. This usually has little impact on the family's economy or to the child's benefit increases his/her weekly allowance.

This fact may shock children but even parents need to take work home and do it at home. Even the teachers, the ones who give the homework need to do the dreaded homework. This also helps them to start working at night and it trains up their initiative to do jobs without being asked.

In conclusion, a world without homework. A place every child including myself would want to go. If you all just have a little think and a brainwave hits you then you will realize that a world without homework would be horrible. The international economy would collapse, people would starve, the whole world would grind to a halt, all because you and a few million more kids would not do your homework.

Journal Entries 100 Word Challenge

Suddenly the sky became darker...
.
Slowly the sky became darker, the sky broke into lashes of thunder and lightning. The shadows danced around while a full, silver moon rose into the sky. I was at home staring out the window waiting for her to return.
About a year a go my sister disappeared without a trace. The police never attempted to look for her. They said they had other priorities at the time. Everytime it rained I could hear her calling out to me. I grabbed my umbrella and rushed outide. "Crystal!" I called out. "Cha-lotte-I-re," a faint voice replied. I turned around and I saw her standing there all messy and ragged. "Where were you?" I asked. "I can't tell you that," she repied. Still to this day she refuses to tell me where she was.

Slowly the sky became darker. Lightning flashied all over the place. The safest place was to be inside the house or to be in an undercover area.
My mum wasn't at home or at the shopping centre which made me worry, because my mum was camping where there wasn't any cover shelter for about another kilometere or so. I hoped my mother would be safe.
My mum didn't come back for many, many weeks but one day a woman came up to my door and gave me a hug. It was strange at first but I swished away her hair and found it was my mum.
Vivian

Slowly the sky became darker and the street lights turned on. A huge storm passed by and I was really scared as there was lightning and thunder. I hid under a blanket the whole time but the noise was so loud one of my cups shatterd .When the storm passed I went down stairs where my mum and dad were sleeping. When it became day time I ran out side and rode my bike from my house to the blue mountains. I was so tired so I got a drink and raced to my house as fast as I could.
Lucas

Slowly the sun became darker as it sank below the mountains covered with ice and snow. The two brothers both walked merrily through the peacefull forest with full bellies as they had a great feast at their parents house .They enjoyed the walk back home as it was very peacefull. It was 9:39pm when they arrived home so they went to bed that was when they heard the loud thumping of feet outside.
Benjamin

All thought the night the sky slowly became darker and darker. The storm became stronger  and more dangerons. No- one sleep. there was no power and the roads were flooding. All the dogs in the street were barking and the babies were screaming and crying all throughout the night.
Sophie

Slowly the sky became darker as all of the people rushed to their houses and locked every door. Everyome knew what was going to happen. The buffalos are coming. They whould take one person or a family somewhere horrible. That's what the people in the world are saying,  except me because I'm only one who has been in there. I'm pretty lucky. No one knows that I'm a buffalo.
